What are Lumineers?

The two things most people notice when meeting someone new are their eyes and their smile. Your smile tells people so much about your personality in a few quick seconds. But what if your smile is crooked, cracked, or stained?

Lumineers are a minimally invasive non-surgical procedure that can help transform your smile, making you more confident in your day-to-day interactions.

Lumineers are made of ultra-thin porcelain laminate, about the thickness of a contact lens, that adhere to your natural tooth. Traditional veneers require the dentist to grind down your tooth before placing thicker porcelain on top – this method can be painful and require injections of local anesthesia. Lumineers are so thin that they can be placed on the tooth with little or no grinding of your existing teeth!

The Lumineer procedure is almost immediate – it is usually completed in about 2 sessions with your dentist. It is less expensive than traditional veneers and lasts on average 10 years (and sometimes up to 20 years!).

Dr. Ramin Moradi of Moradi Signature Smiles says, “if your smile is in need of a little rehabilitation, one of the simplest and most cost-effective methods of fixing your teeth is through the use of Lumineers. Lumineers can be used to close the appearance of gaps between teeth, lengthen teeth that have been shortened by wear, provide a uniform color, shape, and symmetry, and make the teeth appear straight.”

How do you feel about your smile? If your smile makes you self-conscious, or if you choose to avoid certain social interactions due to embarrassment about your teeth, it may be time to consider a cosmetic dentistry procedure, such as Lumineers. Feeling confident when you open your mouth can greatly improve your overall confidence and self-esteem.
